Every Tuesday I will try to engage you in a question/topic/idea. You are welcome to write in with a suggestion you want to share or maybe talk about next Tuesday. My response is not right for everyone but I am hoping together we can generate some great conversation. And as always, I would love to hear from you on this topic or any topic out there! Β
Happy Tuesday everyone!! I don’t know about you but it is beyond hot and humid here in Minnesota!! I hope you are staying cool π

Today I want to talk music- So is so much out there and everyone seems to have a their own choice in what they enjoy. But I am curious if mood affects the type of music you listen to or if you have a go to selection already downloaded?
Todays question(s):
- Pick a mood- happy, sad, depressed, lonely, having a bad day..- and name a song that is your ‘go to’ song.
- This one is more for me- I need a new playlist for running, any suggestions??
I think this might be a really fun topic. I am going to wait before I post my answer because I want to see what you guys come up with. If no one posts a comment, then I try to stimulate the conversation.
Great idea, I love music though I’m a rock and metal fan so it’s all loud and shouty! π
Angry/Having a bad day – Monster by a band called Stemm is my go to song for when I’m having a bad day, shouty and loud with awesome lyrics, quality.
Depressed/Sad – Not Enough by a band called Flaw, emotive lyrics that rally remind me of bad times in the past.
Lonely – Dust by a band called Tremonti, stunning lyrics and a great band.
Though, I’m a music fan, countless songs and albums so while I have my go to songs depending on my mood, loud and shouty, meaningful and mellow, bit of both for me, mood does affect what I listen to but I also have playlists that I just put in and listen to.
A playlist for running you say, Justin Bieber??? That wouldbe an incentive to run faster! π Depends what type of music you generally like, if you like rock at all then I’d suggest Dust by Tremonti as a quality album.
Goodluck with the topic, it’s fun and you should get lots of debate as everyone likes different bands and genres of music. π

Haha, um can’t say I am a Bieber fan… for running I fall more into feminist fast kind of music. I will check out Dust.
I think lyrics make a huge difference. They can make or break a song. I think if you look back at some of the classics- not classical music but the songs that are popular regardless of the generation- the music, lyrics, call to the listener. They speak to them and connect on some level. I think music is a language anyone can connect with.

Well, when I’m depressed, I’ll usually go with Eli Young Band’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart.” Nothing like a song to encourage you toward your dreams.

Not bad!! Sometimes when I am depressed, I don’t want to be cheered up.. at least not right away. Sometimes I want to drown in the feeling and just sort of feel. And when I get like that, I listen to Eliot Smith. Kind of an eye roll, I’m sure. At least that is what my husband says. I haven’t felt that way in a very long time so unfortunately his music is collecting dust, haha.
