Synopsis:
In Laurell K. Hamilton’s New York Times bestselling novels, Vampire Hunter and zombie animator Anita Blake is an expert at sniffing out the bad from the good. But she’s about to learn that nothing is ever as it seems-especially in matters of the not-so-human heart…
Dating a werewolf with self-esteem issues is stressing Anita out. Especially when something-or someone-starts taking out the city’s shapeshifters
Review:
In this story, a true love triangle is built and Anita’s character flaws being to show.
Richard proposes to Anita after only dating for a couple months. This fact and the fact that she agrees is ridiculous. But the engagement doesn’t last long because Richard shows Anita parts of his beast and she isn’t happy. Of course JC finds out and makes Anita agree to date both of them before she marries Richard. So the engagement is off before it even started.
I’m not sure how I feel and Richard besides sorry for him. He wants to be Prince Charming and take care of Anita. But that isn’t what Anita wants. In a way, she is very hypocritical in what she expects from Richard. I needed to remind myself throughout the book not to get mad at Anita for pushing Richard away because she doesn’t want the good guy. I am hoping things work out for Richard and Anita but I just don’t thing she is good for him.
